Eugene Yamate
Eugene Yukio Yamate, 87, of Hilo died Feb. 10 at the Hawaii Care Choices Pohai Malama Care Center. Born in Mountain View, he was a retired freight clerk for the former Air Flo Freight and a member of the Upper Kaumana Kumiai.
Private services held. In lieu of flowers and koden (monetary gifts), donations may be made in memory of Eugene Yukio Yamate to Hawaii Care Choice.
He is survived by wife, Elsie Yamate of Hilo; daughter, Blythe (Timothy) McGinty of Gaithersburg, Maryland; granddaughter, Shelby McGinty of Gaithersburg, Maryland; sister, Ann Matsumoto of Kona; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and aunts.

Rosalina Domingo
Rosalina Jose Domingo, 100, of Keaau, died Feb. 13, 2020 at Life Care Center of Hilo. Born May 12, 1919, in Laoag City, Philippines, she was a retired field worker for Koi Tomato Farm in Mountain View.
Friends may call at 6 p.m. Feb. 24 at Dodo Mortuary Chapel for a 7 p.m. service. Friends may also call at 9 a.m. Feb. 25 at Keaau Holy Rosary Catholic Church for a 10 a.m. Mass. Casual attire. Burial at Homelani Memorial Park (Ilima Section).
She is survived by sons, Franklin (Violeta) Domingo and Rodrigo Domingo of Keaau; daughters, Nida Hendricks of Florida and Lolita (Rolly) Padasdao of Keaau; sister, Adelina Cudal of Philippines; 16 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren; numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.

Melvin Mabuni
Melvin Yasuyuki Mabuni, 82, of Kailua-Kona, died Jan. 26, 2020 at Life Care Center of Kona. Born April 1, 1937, in Hilo, he was the proprietor and realtor of Kalama Realty, floor clerk at the former Kmart, and a member of Piihonua Kumiai and a senior volunteer at the West Hawaii Civic Center.
Friends may call at 4 p.m. Feb. 27 at Dodo Mortuary Chapel for a 5 p.m. service followed by dinner on the chapel lanai. The family requests aloha attire and no flowers.
He is survived by sons, Dylan (Lisa) Mabuni of Kailua-Kona, Darrin (Vivian) Mabuni of Orange County, CA, and Jon (Debbie) Mabuni of Kailua-Kona; daughter, Esther (Marshall) Kanehailua of Hilo; brothers, George (Ellen) Mabuni of Los Angeles, Ca, Raymond (Mildred) Mabuni of Honolulu; sister, Gail (Jack) Fujii of Hilo; 13 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Katsumi Kobayashi
Katsumi Kobayashi, 90, of Hawi died Jan. 30, 2020, at the Hawaii Care Choices Pohai Malama Care Center. He was born in Mountain View and was a retired carpenter and a member of the Hawi Jodo Mission.

Lowell Young
Lowell Wyman Kaleikaimana Young, 76, of Honaunau, died Feb. 17, 2020, at Kona Community Hospital. Born Nov. 13, 1943, in Honolulu, he served in the Hawaii Army National Guard, was a member of the Carpenters Union Local 745, and was a self-employed roofer.

Eleonola Heimuli, 61, of Hilo died Feb. 12 at the Hilo Medical Center. Born in Tonga, she was a sales clerk at 7-11 in Kailua, Oahu, church secretary in Tonga and a member of the Free Church of Tonga in Keaau.
Family viewing from 5–6 p.m. Feb. 21 at the Free Church of Tonga in Keaau; funeral service to follow at 6. Burial to take place at 2 p.m. Feb. 22 at Alae Cemetery. Casual attire.

Joseph Kaai Flores, 64, of Kailua-Kona, died Feb. 3, 2020 at Hale Hoola O Hamakua. Born in Kealakekua on Dec. 25, 1955, he was a macadamia nut and coffee farmer.
A celebration of life will be held at noon Feb. 23, at Kahaluu Beach Park big pavilion in Kailua-Kona. The family requests casual attire.
